What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at Coffee Rd in Brownsville, TX on January 4th, 2024. Officials say the incident happened around 9:43 a.m. Investigators are saying a commercial truck headed westbound on Coffee Rd turned left towards Casa Dr Oro St, colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado head eastbound on Coffee Rd. Police allege the commercial truck failed to yield making the turn, the two vehicles colliding in the process. Reports say the driver of the Chevrolet, 25-year-old Juan Vera III, was seriously injured. A passenger, age 20 and not publicly identified, allegedly had less serious injuries. The other driver, age 44 and also not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. Additional information was not immediately available.
