What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at College Ave and Lear Ave in Scurry County, TX on March 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:16 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 27-year-old Snyder man was northbound on College Ave before allegedly hydroplaning. The vehicle is said to have veered from the road, entering into a barrow ditch and colliding with a power pole and metal fence. The impact left a passenger, 18-year-old Julian Garcia seriously injured. Reports say Garcia was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
