What Happened

Area authorities have information on a two vehicle crash at Loop 494 in Montgomery County, TX on October 23rd, 2021. They say the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. and involved a Ford Ranger and motorcycle. According to investigators, the Ford was at a stop sign on East Knox Dr facing westbound while the motorcycle was southbound on Loop 494. The Ford reportedly headed westbound from the stop sign and failed to yield right of way to the motorcycle. Both vehicles collided and the motorcyclist, 25-yer-old Justin Patras, was ejected into a nearby ditch. He suffered serious injuries in the collision. No charges were issued at the scene, however, investigators allege that a failure to yield on the part of the Ford and suspicion of alcohol intoxication on the part of Patras, were contributing factors.
