What Happened

Carthage Police are investigating a collision that killed two people at State Hwy 315 in Carthage, TX on December 11th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened around 5:22 a.m. A pickup truck occupied by 34-year-old Kaleb Hamby and 28-year-old Gabriel Webb was stopped behind an 18-wheeler while waiting to make a turn. That is when, according to investigators, a Mack truck failed to stop and collided with the pickup truck, pushing it into the 18-wheeler ahead. The pickup truck caught fire and both Hamby and Webb died at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler, 53-year-old Gregory Baulkman was hospitalized as well as the Mack truck driver, 34-year-old James Wilson. Additional information was not available.
