What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at FM 2244 in Austin, TX on August 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:22 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Prius operated by a 21-year-old Austin man was southeast before allegedly failing to remain in its lane and traveling into oncoming traffic. From there, officials say the vehicle collided head-on with a Honda Insight operated by 55-year-old Kaori Kitta. The collision is said to have caused Kitta and a passenger, 55-year-old Sherrod Seagraves, with fatal injuries. The Austin man had minor injuries, according to police.
