What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at FM 1630 in Cooke County, TX on February 2nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened as an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe veered from the road for unclear reasons. Reports say the vehicle overcorrected while attempting to return to the road, traveling into oncoming traffic in the process. There, police say the vehicle collided with a Dodge Ram, killing both the driver of the Tahoe, 56-year-old Shirley Jean Freeman, and Dodge passenger, 52-year-old Karen Weiss Mulder.  The driver of the Dodge, identified as 54-year-old James Alan Mulder, was hospitalized in critical condition, reports say.
