What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at US 277 in Stamford, TX on February 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:12 a.m. According to investigators, 42-year-old Karl Berry was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Tahoe that is alleged to to have drifted across a median for unknown reasons. The vehicle reportedly attempted to correct back onto the highway before losing control and overturning. Shortly after, it was struck by a Dodge Ram operated by 51-year-old Kenneth Pittman. Berry was hospitalized with serious injuries that he later died from. Pittman suffered less serious injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
