What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Business 20 in Reeves County, TX on February 17th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:48 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Focus was headed westbound on Business I-20 before veering from the road for unconfirmed reasons. Upon doing so, reports say the vehicle went into a skid before overturning onto its side. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Katarina Franco Tapia, was partially ejected from the vehicle in the impact, the vehicle pinning her underneath. The incident left Tapia fatally injured. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
