Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at I-20 in Callahan County, TX on November 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:46 p.m. A Hyundai Accent operated by a 22-year-old male was headed westbound in an outside lane approaching a tractor-trailer merging on I-20 from an on-ramp. Investigators believe the driver of the Hyundai fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer into the truck. A passenger in the Hyundai, 24-year-old Katelyn Maree Killam, suffered serious injuries in the impact. The driver was evaluated for possible injuries. The truck driver and his passenger were not injured.
