Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Mile 5 Rd in Hidalgo County, TX on August 5th, 2024. Police are saying the incident happened around 7:48 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Ecosport was headed westbound on Mile 5 Rd, heading N Minnesota Rd. At the same time, reports say a Dodge Ram 1500 was headed southbound on N Minnesota Rd. Reports allege the Dodge disregarded a traffic signal before proceeding into the intersection and colliding the with Ford. Officials say the driver of the Ford, identified as 46-year-old Katty Bernal, was seriously injured. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, had alleged minor injuries, according to reports. Reports also indicate that driver was cited for Disregarding Signal.
