What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at Walzem Rd in San Antonio, TX on August 4th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:19 a.m. A Mazda 3 operated by a 22-year-old New Salem, ND driver was exiting a parking lot when it collided with a westbound Kia Forte operated by 22-year-old Kayla Hall. After impact the Forte was pushed into a Toyota Tundra while the Mazda 3 attempted to flee the scene into the parking lot but was blocked in by a civilian. Hall suffered serious injuries. Her 3-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Tundra was evaluated for possible injuries. The New Salem driver was charged with Intoxication Assault and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
