What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 77 near Lyford, TX on September 25th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:23 a.m. According o investigators, a vehicle operated by 29-year-old Keila Nayley Oviedo is said to have veered from the road into a guardrail before coming to stop in a middle lane. Oviedo exited her vehicle and was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu, whose driver stopped at the scene before jumping to avoid a collision with another vehicle. That driver was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Oviedo was also hospitalized with injuries she died from. Additional details were not immediately available.
