Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured a person at US 277 in Taylor County, TX on November 13th, 2021. They say the incident happened around 10:05 a.m. A Ford F-450 operated by a 52-year-old Mesquite man was traveling along southwest US 277 when it reportedly lost a hub on tireless axle connected to an attached trailer. The hub rolled into oncoming traffic, through the windshield of a Ford Explorer. The driver, 75-year-old Kenneth Gilbert Hobbs, was seriously injured when struck and the vehicle veered into a guardrail. The Mesquite man was allegedly unaware of the incident and did not stop but was later located for questioning. Additional information was not available.
