Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a teen at FM 47 in Van Zandt County, TX on September 20th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. A Nissan M20 operated by 18-year-old Kenneth Leonard is accused of traveling at an unsafe speed before losing control and veering from the road into a group of trees. Leonard was pronounced dead at the scene. A 16-year-old female passenger was also killed. Additional information was not available.
