What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at Walter Hoffman Rd in Bastrop County, TX on July 15th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:22 p.m. A Chevrolet Silverado is said to have veered from the road and crashed into the rear of a Toyota Tacoma parked on the left side of the roadway. The driver of the Tacoma, 49-year-old Kevin Aric Moriss, was inside the truck talking to a neighbor at the time of the collision and suffered serious injuries. The Silverado driver fled the scene on foot. Police say that an alcoholic beverage bottle was found inside the vehicle.
