What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision involving a wrong-way vehicle at I-45 in Willis, TX on December 1st, 2021. They say it happened just before midnight near FM 1097. Investigators say a Honda Accord operated by 21-year-old Kevin Jose Alvarado was traveling north in southbound lanes as a tractor-trailer approached. They go on to say that the 18-wheeler reportedly attempted to avoid colliding with the vehicle but was unable and the collision caused the Accord to catch fire.
