What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at US 59 in Bowie County, TX on August 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:20 p.m. A Honda Odyssey operated by  57-year-old Kimberly Maher lost control and collided with the rear of a semi-truck. Responding officers say Maher admitted to being distracted by a GPS in the vehicle prior to the crash. She suffered serious injuries in the collision. The truck driver, a 39-year-old Katy man, was not injured.
