What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian at Campbell Rd in Dallas, TX in February 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Accord operated by a 67-year-old Dallas man was headed northbound on Campbell Rd. As it traveled, police say a pair of pedestrians, one being 62-year-old Kimia Taheri-Hakkak, were standing on the east side of the road, moving trashcans onto a sidewalk. The vehicle at some point entered onto the sidewalk and struck both pedestrians and the trash caused before leaving the scene and eventually crashing in a separate incident. Both Taheri-Hakkak and the other pedestrian, an unnamed 28-year-old woman, were seriously injured, according to police. Additional information was not immediately available.
