What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at US 385 in Hartley County, TX on April 17th, 2022. They say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. According to reports, a Mazda CX5 operated by 29-year-old Kelly Williams was headed northbound on US 385 while a Toyota Highlander operated by 67-year-old Kirk Robert Kramer was headed southbound. Investigators believe the Mazda moved into a southbound lane to pass other vehicles headed before crashing head-on into the Toyota. Williams was hospitalized with injuries she later died from while Kramer suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Additional information was not available.
