What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 112 in Lee County, TX on January 13th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:14 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 27-year-old Kyle man was headed northwest on FM 112 when, according to investigators, it failed to remain in a single lane and collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram operated by 19-year-old Lance Pitts. The impact sent the Dodge veering into a bar ditch, where it partially overturned and went through a fence, before crashing into a tree. Pitts suffered serious injuries in the crash, according to reports. The Kyle man was not injured. Records show a Failure to Drive in Single Lane charge was recommended and/or issued.
