What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at FM 2555 in Retreat, TX on July 4th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:25 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban headed southbound on FM 2555 is said to have turned left onto Hwy 31 as a westbound motorcycle approached. Reports say the motorcycle collided with the side of the Chevrolet, the impact causing an approaching Ford Fiesta to collide with the rear of the motorcycle and side of the Chevrolet. The motorcyclist, identified as 18-year-old Landon Biggs, was fatally injured. A passenger in the Ford had minor injures, police say while the two drivers were allegedly uninjured. Police believe possible failure to yield, driver visibility and speed may have played factors in the incident. Additional information was not available.
