What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at US 87 near Amarillo, TX on October 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Investigators allege a GMC Sierra operated by 34 year-old Milton Escoto was northwest on US 87 before leaving the roadway for unconfirmed reasons. From there, police say the vehicle traveled into a center median before gong into a side skid. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting 33-year-old passenger Laura Arredondo, from the vehicle. Arredondo died at the scene while Escoto was treated and released at the scene, police say. Additional information was not available.
