What Happened

Houston Police offer details on a crash that injured a driver at US 290 in Houston, TX on September 20th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened around 5:50 a.m. A westbound Dodge Ram operated by 47-year-old Leonardo Hernandez is said to have failed to control its speed before colliding with the rear of a tractor-trailer. Hernandez suffered serious injuries in the collision while the operator of the tractor-trailer, a 51-year-old Cypress man, was not injured. Officers say Failure to Control Speed and Expired Drivers License charges were recommended and/or issued.
