What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed one person involved at FM 2920 in Harris County, TX on July 21st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:57 a.m. According to investigators, a Mazda CX-5 was northbound on Holwarth Rd. Headed westbound on FM 2920 was a Toyota Tacoma. Reports alleged the Toyota disregarded a red traffic signal before crossing into the path of the approaching Mazda. The two vehicles collided and the impact is said to have caused the Toyota to crossed a median and overturn multiple times. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Leonardo Interiano Gonzalez, was ejected from the vehicle and fatally injured, sources say. Sources also say a 29-year-old passenger in the vehicle had possible, unconfirmed injuries. The other driver was allegedly uninjured. Additional information was not available.
