What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed a person at State Hwy 66 in Garland, TX on April 21st, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 11:49 p.m. Investigators believe a Honda Civic operated by 19-year-old Lonnie Komahcheet was headed westbound on State Hwy 66 at an alleged high rate of speed when it reportedly ran a red light and collided with a Ford Fiesta at the intersection with N Country Club Rd. The driver of the Fiesta, identified as 25-year-old Lesley Mandujana, died at the scene. Komahcheet was evaluated for possible injuries and reports indicate an Intoxication Manslaughter charge was recommended and/or issued.
