What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 1924 in Hidalgo County, TX on October 22nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. Investigators say a Ford Explorer operated by a 43-year-old Penitas man failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Malibu stopped to make a turn. The Malibu driver, 35-year-old Leticia Hinojosa, suffered serious injuries. The other driver was less seriously injured and charged with Intoxication Assault, Possession of Marijuana, No Insurance and Failure to Control Speed.
