What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two women at US Hwy 90 in Liberty County, TX on June 12th, 2023. Police say the incident occurred around 10:27 a.m. Investigators allege a Toyota Rav 4 may have disregarded an active railroad crossing by attempting to either go around or outdrive an approaching westbound train. The vehicles collided in the process, leaving both the driver and her passenger with fatal injuries. Police identified the victims as 63-year-old Linda Warren Durio and 48-year-old passenger, Demetria Louise Semien. The occupants of the train were reportedly uninjured.
