What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at US 81 in Decatur, TX on July 25th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:04 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 55-year-old driver was northbound as traffic ahead began to slow. Police allege the truck failed to control its speed at flashing yellow signal lights, collided with the rear of a Mitsubishi Outlander operated by 34-year-old Lindsey Carlson. The impact pushed the Mitsubishi into a second tractor-trailer, leaving Carlson with suspected serious injuries. The other drivers were not injured, according to police. A Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
