What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at East Fwy and Dell Dale St in Houston, TX on May 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:20 a.m. According to initial investigation, a Hyundai Sonata was headed eastbound when a pedestrian that was walking in or near the roadway was struck as the vehicle changed lanes. The pedestrian, identified as 50-year-old Lois Rivette, was struck by the Hyundai before also being struck by a pickup truck shortly after, causing fatal injuries. Both drivers are said to have remained at the scene and investigators do not believe either displayed signs of intoxication or impairment. Additional information was not immediately available.
