What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at I-35W in Fort Worth, TX on February 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:36 p.m. According to investigators, a GMC Yukon operated by a 45-year-old man from Fort Worth was traveling northbound, allegedly proceeded through an intersection on a green lights. As it did so, police say a pedestrian was walking westbound across the service road. An adjacent vehicle was slowing to avoid striking the pedestrian as the GMC traveled. Police allege the GMC attempted to swerve to avoid colliding with the pedestrian, striking both the other vehicle and pedestrian. The pedestrian, identified as 65-year-0ld Loney Bishop, was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Police have not provided additional information.
