What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 290 in Gillespie County, TX on March 3rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:55 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an unknown driver was exiting a gas station lot, turning on US 290. Police say it did so, it failed to yield to oncoming traffic and traveled into the path of a Dodge Durango operated by 39-year-old J0hn-Michael Davis. The vehicles collided, leaving Davis and his passenger, 24-year-old Mackenzie Davis, with serious injuries. Following the crash, police say the driver of the tractor trailer fled the scene on-foot and add the truck was not registered for operation.
