Area authorities have information on a crash that killed one person at Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville, TX on August 19th, 2023. Police say the incident involved a Toyota Corolla that became disabled following a collision with a concrete barrier. Authorities say its two occupants, including 21-year-old Maham Junaid Khan and 18-year-old Shannon Winters Christian were both standing near the vehicle as a Chevrolet 1500 operated by 33-year-old Michael Andrew Rains approached. Investigators say the Chevrolet struck both the Toyota and both Khan and Christian under unclear circumstances. While Khan died at the scene. Christian was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries. Rains was also hospitalized with less serious injuries, according to officials. Additional information was not available.
