What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a man at East Braker Ln and I-35 in Austin, TX in May 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:07 a.m. According to investigators, a GM pickup truck operated by a 28-year-old male was headed westbound on Braker Ln when it collided with a bicyclist crossing from a southbound sidewalk across the westbound lanes, outside a marked crosswalk. The bicyclist, a 41-year-old male, was seriously injured. The pickup truck driver was not injured and reports indicate a DWI charge was recommended and/or issued.
