Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 2917 in Brazoria County, TX on December 22nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:15 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 29-year-old Houston man was headed northwest with an attached trailer when the trailer detached and began rolling northwest in a southeast lane. Investigators say a piece of metal struck a commercial truck behind, causing serious injuries to the 38-year-old Katy man driving. The Houston man was not injured. Records indicate a charge of Drive/Permit to Vehicle in Unsafe Conditions was recommended and/or issued.
