What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at I-35 and Walnut Ave in New Braunfels, TX on May 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:57 p.m. According to police, a Hyundai Santa Fe operated by a 28-year-old man was headed northbound when a piece of steel reportedly crashed through the windshield. It caused the vehicle to continue forward before hitting a center concrete barrier wall before bouncing off the wall and colliding with a Dodge Ram operated by a 31-year-old San Antonio man. The driver of the Hyundai was seriously injured by the steel and the collision. The other driver was not injured. Additional information was not available.
