What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a man at Old La Blanca Rd and Mile 11 Rd in Hidalgo County, TX on August 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:45 p.m. A Chevrolet Impala operated by a 27-year-old San Juan man was headed southbound on Old La Blanca Rd when it reportedly veered into northbound traffic. A northbound Chevrolet Suburban operated by a 24-year-old Donna man reportedly attempted to to avoid the impending head-on collision but was unable to do so and the vehicles collided. The Donna man and his 50-year-old passenger were evaluated for possible injuries. The San Juan man, suspected of being intoxicated, was seriously injured.
