What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a man at Price Rd and Old Alice Rd in Brownsville, TX on August 16th, 2021. Police say it happened around 12:08 a.m. and involved three vehicles. A Toyota Tundra operated by 52-year-old Luis Belmart was headed southeast on Price Rd when it failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 62-year-old Mariadel Consuelo Galnares. The Ram was pushed into a third vehicle and the 60-year-old driver in that vehicle reportedly suffered serious injuries. The vehicle fled prior to police arrival. Belmart was charged with Intoxication Assault.
