Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Sam Houston Blvd in San Benito, TX on January 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:37 a.m. A commercial truck operated by a 22-year-old San Benito man is accused of running a red light and colliding with a Hyundai Tiburon operated by a 58-year-old Dallas man. Investigators say the truck driver stated that rain on the roadway caused the vehicle to slide into the intersection while it was attempting to stop for the the light. The Dallas man is said to have suffered serious injuries. Reports indicate a Ran Red Light citation was recommended and/or issued.
