What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 45 in Pflugerville, TX on August 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:03 a.m. A pickup truck operated by a 33-year-old Austin man was headed eastbound on 45 when the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and the truck veered from the road. It crashed into a street lightpole and, after overcorrecting, rolled off the road. The Austin man was seriously injured. Police also say that the driver allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol.
