Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at State Hwy 72 in Dewitt County, TX on October 16th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:44 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-250 was northbound in a construction zone. Ahead of the truck was a dump truck police allege was slowing to perform a u-turn. Police say the Ford traveled across a double yellow line in an attempt to pass the truck before the vehicles collided. A 59-year-old passenger in the Ford, who was not publicly identified, suffered suspected serious injuries.  There were no other reported injuries, officials say.
