Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a man at 5th St and Lavaca St in Austin, TX on July 30th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:47 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Maxima operated by 26-year-old Matthew Thompson is said to have went through an intersection and collided with an individual on a scooter. The scooter operator was thrown from the bike and suffered serious injuries. Thompson was not injured and reports indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued.
