What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at I-45 and Dowdy Ferry Rd in Hutchins, TX on December 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:14 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 5500  was traveling southbound on I-45, approaching a Nissan police say was stalled in a right shoulder. Under unconfirmed circumstances, the Dodge is said to have struck the vehicle as its driver, who was not in the Nissan, was walking back towards the vehicle. The impact caused the Nissan to strike the 42-year-old driver, leaving him seriously injured, police say. The other driver, a 47-year-old woman who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. Additional information was not available.
