Police say the incident happened around 12:31 a.m. According to investigators, a Cadillac Escalade headed southwest on Ayers St is alleged to have failed to remain in its lane before striking a curb. Following the impact, the vehicle is said to have struck a traffic control box and a traffic signal pole. Reports indicate a 55-year-old passenger in the vehicle was fatally injured. The driver, a 50-year-old Kingsville man who was not publicly identified, had possible, unconfirmed injuries and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
