What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-2 in Pharr, TX on July 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:50 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by 19-year-old Raul Gonzalez was westbound, approaching a pedestrian allegedly walking northbound. Police say the Ford failed to control its speed before colliding with the pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 63-year-old male, was killed in the collision. Gonzalez was not injured, according to police, and officers recommended and/or issued an Accident Involving Death charge/citation.
