What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-45 and Booker Rd in Harris County, TX on December 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:52 a.m. According to investigators, a commercial truck was traveling northbound, approaching a vehicle ahead allegedly traveling at a much lower rate of speed. Reports indicate the truck performed an unsafe lane change before veering left following a faulty evasive action. Reports continue that the truck entered into an HOV lane where it was struck by an approaching Chevrolet Express van. Officials say the driver of the van, a 32-year-old man who was not publicly identified, was killed. The other driver, age 39 and also not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. A passenger in the van had possible injuries, authorities say. Additional information was not immediately available.
