What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at Tisinger Ave and Shiloh Rd in Dallas, TX on January 17th, 2022. Officials are saying the incident happened around 4:44 p.m. A garbage truck operated by a 56-year-old Dallas woman turned onto an alley way Tisinger Ave and its back rear tires struck a pedestrian. Investigators say the pedestrian, an unidentified 43-year-old Dallas man, was allegedly laying down on the ground with the upper part of his body obscured by bushes with the lower half of his body blocking the travel path of vehicles. Responding officers say dash cam footage from the truck did not indicate any unsafe driving behaviors on the part of the truck driver and she was believed to not be impaired. The pedestrian died from his injuries.
