What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at US 90 and Lee Tims Rd in Liberty, TX on June 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Initial reports suggest a Chevrolet Cobalt was headed westbound prior to allegedly attempting to pass an 18-wheeler ahead by traveling into the path of a GMC SUV. Both vehicles collided head-on before the Cobalt caught fire. The driver, a 19-year-old male, died at the scene. The other driver, an unidentified female, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
