Houston Police are investigating a collision that killed a man at South Main St in Houston, TX on August 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford pickup truck was involved in rear-end collision with a Toyota Highlander stopped at a red light. The impact from the collision saw the pickup truck travel over a curb at the nearby overpass where it struck a man officers believe was sleeping. Following this, they say the vehicle did not stop and continued into a tree and pillar before ultimately fleeing the scene. The man, who was not publicly identified, was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. A passenger in the stopped Toyota had suspected minor injuries from the crash.
