What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at I-45 in Houston, TX on February 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Murano operated by 36-year-old Miguel Guachiac-Tambriz is alleged to have been headed southbound on the freeway at the time. Officers further allege the vehicle collided with an unidentified pedestrian attempting to cross the road. Following that collision, they say a Hyundai Sonata also struck the pedestrian before colliding with the rear of the Nissan. The unnamed pedestrian died at the scene. Police further allege that Guachiac-Tambriz was intoxicated at the time of the collision and arrested him on DWI charge. Additional information was not provided.
