What Happened

Authorities in Guadalupe County, TX, are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision that occurred on December 27, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Interstate 10. A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, allegedly driven by a 36-year-old male, failed to control speed and rear-ended a 2014 Ford Explorer. A 24-year-old male passenger in the Explorer sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 57-year-old male driver and two passengers, ages 53 and 20, suffered serious injuries and were transported to a nearby medical facility. The Silverado driver, who had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit, was charged with intoxication manslaughter, failure to stop and render aid, and multiple traffic violations. Contributing factors included alcohol intoxication, speeding, and failure to control speed. The investigation is ongoing.
